Marco Ajmone Marsan is full professor of Telecommunications at the Electronics and Telecommunications Department of the Politecnico di Torino and part time Research Professor at the IMDEA Networks Institute in Spain. He is the founder of the Telecommunication Networks Group at the Politecnico di Torino.
Marco Ajmone Marsan published over 300 papers at the most important international conferences and journals of the networking field. His papers received over 14,000 citations. His h-index is 51 on Google Scholar, and he was listed as “ISI highly cited researcher”.
Marco Ajmone Marsan is IEEE Life Fellow, member of the Academy of Sciences of Torino and of Academia Europaea. He was awarded a Honorary Doctoral Degree in Telecommunication Networks from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He was named Commendatore dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana for scientific merits.
Marco Ajmone Marsan was Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Technology Transfer at the Politecnico di Torino, Director of the Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP) of the Politecnico di Torino and Milano, Director of the Istituto di Elettronica e Ingegneria dell’Informazione e delle Telecomunicazioni of CNR, yje Italian National Research Council. He was chairman of the Gruppo Telecomunicazioni e Tecnologie dell’Informazione (GTTI), the association of university professors in telecommunications. He was the Italian Delegate in the ICT and IDEAS Committees of the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission.
