More than 44 years spent in the development of broadcast Industry. From analogue TV to digital hybrid TV future trends: a long-lasting technical career in Mediaset, the larger commercial Broadcaster in Italy, now M.F.E.: Media for Europe.
He enters Videotime in 1980, then soon join Engineering dept. where in 1990 he is charge of the realisation of the TV Production Center of Telecinco in Madrid.
From 1993 to 1998, he operated in research projects, funded by EC in framework Programmes: R.A.C.E, A.C.T.S, ans I.S.T., to gain competences in content distribution over ATM and IP network technologies.
In 1994 as R&D manager, he leads many emerging projects in the world of Digital Media and Innovation Technology.
In 1999 he designed “RAV&FAV”, the IP based network infrastructure specifically designed with TV Production capabilities to support Mediaset Content Production Operations. In 2007, he designed “M-TUBE”, the nationwide hi-speed optical fiber network infrastructure based upon DWDM and G.E. technology, capable to interconnect the 12 regional Mediaset branches and Football Stadiums to the headquarters in Milan and Rome,.
In 2003, he co-founded DGTVi, the Association of Italian Digital TV Broadcasters, where coordinated the publishing of D-Books, today “UHD Books Collection”: the baseline requirements for CE TV manufacturers for italian market.
In 2004 he has been awarded of “Cable and Satellite Europe’s Euro 50”, with the following acknowledgement: “Marco Pellegrinato has been instrumental in developing the specification for digital terrestrial TV in Italy”
In late 2006, he co-founded HD Forum Italia. As Vice President he coordinates the publishing of UHD-Book Collection: the heritage of DGTVi publications extended to High and Ultra High-Definition technology and broadband services.
In the last decade he has been instrumental in the design and deployment of many OTT Services in Mediaset: Premium Play OTT Service launched in February 2011, Infinity: lauched in 2012 and Mediaset Play: the catchup TV Service of Mediaset Free Channels.
Actually, he represents Mediaset in the DVB Project Steering Board. Last three years, he has been active in the technical evaluation and promotion of DVB-I Standard technology for the development of Smart TV linear services based on IP broadband networks.
