5G Italy White eBook: from Research to Market

In the framework of 5G Italy, CNIT edited a White eBook, with the aim of documenting the Italian 5G ecosystem, starting from basic definitions and key characteristics of this innovative technology, proceeding to present the work done up to now by the most significant research and industry players, including field trials, then focusing on applications and vertical exploitations and, last but not least, reporting on regulatory and market/business issues. A final section of the eBook explores roadmaps and future work.

Importantly, the eBook had a first version, presented at the 5G Italy Conference in paper form, but will continue to live and grow on the web, being updated with contributions coming from the conference, including videos, demonstrations and interviews with leading actors of the field.

The book is also open to new contributions; if you would like to propose one, please write to the editors.

The eBook also incorporates key elements of the 5G PPP work and results to ensure compatibility between the emerging Italian 5G ecosystem and the pan-European 5G vision, as prepared by the 5G PPP (https://5g-ppp.eu/).
