Biography

Since May 2021, Marco Petracca has been working at the Cabinet of the Minister for Technological Innovation and Digital Transition Vittorio Colao.

Since 2013 he has been an officer at Agcom (the independent Italian Regulatory Authority for communications), mainly dealing with regulation for the development of ultra-broadband networks and for granting and managing radio spectrum for wireless broadband services, including national and international activities aimed at fostering the development of 5G in Italy and Europe, also as a member of several RSPG (Radio Spectrum Policy Group) and BEREC (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications) working groups.

From 2007 to 2013 he worked in the field of applied research for fixed and mobile networks at Radiolabs Consortium and the University of Rome Tor Vergata, where he also carried out teaching activities. He participated in many European and national research projects.

He received M.S. degree cum laude and Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from University of Rome Tor Vergata.

He has co-authored more than 30 international peer-reviewed publications.
