THE CONFERENCE

The usual appointment with “5G Italy” is back again, also this year. “5G Italy” is the international Conference promoted by the Italian National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications – CNIT (Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni), a consortium made up of 37 public universities, with +1,300 professors and researchers and employing additional +100 technicians and researches.

This year’s is the third edition and it will deal with implementation and deployment issues, in light of the ongoing emergency and the need to relaunch Italian economy.

This is the reason why we will be talking about 5G and NextGenerationEU (Recovery Fund), a growth opportunity strictly linked to our capability to come up with innovative projects and create new enabling mobile services with an infrastructure that will definitely need improvement.

Over 40 of the 209 billion Euros assigned to Italy from the Recovery Fund shall be spent on the digital, both infrastructure and services. Investments in 5G have been referred to as a priority by the European Commission, together with having new fiber optic networks directly at home.

But how is Italy going to spend such money?
What will such innovative project be?
What is the opinion of the major industrial stakeholders and players in this regard?
How shall Italian innovative SMEs involved in digital mobility contribute?
Finally, what synergies will start among the digital, green and sustainable economy?

These will be the topics that will be addressed at the third edition of “5G Italy”, with the aim of brainstorming and collecting proposals for projects coming from Italian companies and the major players in the sector.
